Explanations and Introductions...

Why Hello!!!

I am glad your wayward web wanderings have led you here…do you have your invitation? Perhaps you just happened in.…but please don’t feel awkward.  All are welcome.

Come in. Sit.
Have some cocoa.

I’m sure the others will be along shortly.  Sorry about the mess…I’m kind of in a transition period right now…leaving the country soon you see…
No I’m not on the run from the law, ex-girlfriends or unclaimed children.  I'm taking a month off from work and exploring my ancestral homelands in jolly(or damp) old England!

First a brief introduction, those who know me have permission to skip the next few lines...

My name is Brian Browitt and I am a pale-faced, red-haired lad born in the roots of the Cascade mountains in Washington State.  The union of English, Irish and Croation clans in a charming though dusty coal mining town that breifly stood in as Alaska in the nineties in this one weird TV show that no-one remembers.  I graduated from Carroll College with a B.A. in telling people what to do(Acting/Directing) and currently work at a Winery near my home town...I enjoy taking pictures, writing and making movies when I have time...

But let's be honest now...

You're not really here to learn about me...

On one particularly snowy November day in the year 2010 my dear friend Jessica and I were scrying out a conversation over Skype.  She was living in England with her Sister-in-law, enjoying being a nanny to her two nephews and doing a little bit of sight-seeing on the side.  And she was like "Oh you should come and see me(chuckle chuckle)" and I was like "okay."

So five months and countless wine bottles later here I am.  Talking to you. About a trip I am making tomorrow.

Over the course of the next month I will be traveling throughout the U.K. by way of an over-priced railcard, over-crowded buses and cars driving on awkward parts of the road.  During that time I will post short blogs and many photos of my adventures...I can't take you all with me...but I'd like to try...at least virtually...I will attempt to make the postings as regular as wi-fi hotspots will permit.

Coming along will be my trusty sidearm, Alpha...with his shiny new peeper, a Tameron 18-200 lens.

So  thanks for coming along...I will attempt to make the journey as entertaining as possible...
Keep checking my photo-albums on Picasa to see all the pictures I can't post here.  You'll also find photos of my hometown, my place of work...and my family's cats...

So I know this is awkward but...you have to leave now.  I'm all packed and I must lock up the house.  If you didn't finish your Cocoa...yeah I guess I can do one more load of dishes before I leave...awfully nice of you...

When next you hear form me I'll either be flying in an Iron bird over the Atlantic or scarfing crumpets in London.

So what do they say over there?

Oh yeah...cheers.

Now get out of my house.

I just happened upon these happenings and felt the need to follow along. The first post, I must say, drew me in and I am now hooked and will do my utmost best to continue following on your wonderful adventure! Wish I could be there, but guess this just means we will have to make a trip as a large group there. Safe travels! Cheers!

A whole month? That's crazy... and amazing. I've been on road trips that lasted just a few days and it's a shock coming home. Of course, you've had a little more experience with going away from home for a while and then coming back, with all that adventure off at Carroll. Maybe I'll get to know what that feels like whenever I happen by Washington again. It's been so long, I can't imagine what it'll be like seeing the Cascades and Mt. Rainier again... I miss Washington so much.

I'm going to try keeping up with your blog, but I can't guarantee anything. I'm too lazy for my own good. But I will try. And that's better than I've managed for a while.
